However, Guinness World Records has stripped the \u2018oldest dog ever\u2019 title from Bobi, a Portuguese Mastiff who died in October 2023, following an investigation that found insufficient evidence of the fact that he lived for 31 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to studies, typically, dogs of smaller breeds tend to live longer, but records have shown that some of the oldest dogs in the world were medium-sized. Be it the dogs\u2019 genetics, lifestyle, good care, or pure luck, the following are those dogs that have lived for the maximum number of years in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adopted by a sugar cane farmer in 1983, Max\u2019s human parent attributed his long life to a simple diet of dry dog food. In his final years, he suffered only from mild arthritis and cataracts before dying of a seizure caused by old age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, it had to be euthanized in 1939 at the age of 29 years and 5 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
